PresentationEach ml contains Travoprost INN 40 micrograms and Timolol Maleate BP equivalent to Timolol 5 mg.
DescriptionsTravast Plus is a clear and colourless solution that contains two active ingredients- Travoprost and Timolol Maleate. These two drugs decrease raised pressure within the eye. They work in different ways to produce a combined effect greater than either medicine produces on its own.
IndicationsDecrease of intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension who are insufficiently responsive to topical beta-blockers or prostaglandin analogues.
Dosage and AdministrationUse in adults: The dose is one drop of Travast Plus in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) once daily, in the morning or evening. It should be administered at the same time each day. Paediatric patients: The efficacy and safety of Travast Plus in patients below the age of 18 years have not been established.
Side EffectsNo serious ophthalmic or systemic undesirable effects related to Travast Plus were reported. The most frequently reported treatment-related undesirable effect was ocular hyperaemia. Other common side-effects may be keratitis, anterior chamber flare, eye pain, photophobia, eye swelling, conjunctival haemorrhage, corneal staining, ocular discomfort, visual acuity reduced, visual disturbance, blurred vision etc.
PrecautionsLike other topically applied ophthalmic agents, Travoprost and Timolol are absorbed systemically. Due to the beta-adrenergic component, timolol, the same types of cardiovascular and pulmonary adverse reactions as seen with systemic beta adrenergic blocking agents may occur.
ContraindicationsHypersensitivity to Travoprost, Timolol or to any of the excipients.
Use in Pregnancy and LactationThere are no adequate data from the use of Travoprost in eye drops in pregnant women. Travast Plus should not be used during pregnancy unless clearly necessary. It is unknown whether Travoprost from eye drops is excreted in human breast milk. Timolol is excreted in breast milk.The use of Travast Plus by breast-feeding women is not recommended. Drug Interaction No specific interaction was observed with Travast Plus eye drops.
OverdoseIncase of overdose with Travast Plus, treatment should be symptomatic. Storage Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct light. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not use more than 4 weeks after opening the bottle
